Creating the group piece

Once we had developed a range of movements through the chance procedure, we showed back what we had to a small audience. We were then given a task and were told that we needed to break the unison up, as we were not using the movements full potential. It was also said that we needed to make it more distinguished when one person was controlling.

To amend this we began to play around with different individuals performing different movements which contained similarities. When these similarities occurred this is when the control would take form, but this time unexpectedly creating the element of surprise. I felt that this development went well as we were no longer dancing in complete unison and it made the choreography more engaging.

To delve into this further we could of looked at all 3 dancers performing individual movements. Then one movement that we all performed in unison to show the fight for control, maybe using levels again to show the controller.
Here is a clip of us experimenting with this development, once we watched it back we realised that we could used the space more effectively. Now we all spread out across the space in the second motif and very close together in the first to show a contrast.
